An Hausa man whose name was simply identified as Nuhu has reportedly killed his brother whose name was yet-to-be gathered at the time of filing the report.
The incident, infonet9ja.com gathered occurred at Nkoro Street off Okigwe road in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State.
Sources told infonet9ja.com that Nuhu, from the Niger Republic snuffed life out of his brother by using a broken bottle to slit his throat, causing him to lose excessive blood.
Many shop owners were forced to close shop over possible police arrest and what many of them described as a proactive measures to safeguard their lives and businesses.
The body of the deceased was said to have been buried according to Islamic rites after his body was evacuated from the scene by the owner of the warehouse where the deceased serves as a security guard under the supervision of some police officers the same night the incident happened.
It was learnt that the suspect is said to be cooling off in a police detention facility to give room for further investigation.
Narrating the incident, a resident who pleaded anonymity described the deceased as quiet and easy going young man that showed respect to both old and young.
“Whenever that you see him, he is always cheerful. If you give him shoe to amend for you and any of his people is around, he will distribute the job among them.
“From what we learnt, before the ugly incident, deceased had threatened that he will be sending Nuhu back to Niger Republic because of his attitude, that angered Nuhu who had heated quarrel with the deceased.
“Around 10:30 pm, both of them were heard exchanging words with one another and before you know it, the sound of a bottle was heard. shortly after that, the deceased was said to have been heard screaming which drew the attention of the people and by the time some neighbours could muster the courage to come out to know what was happening, they met the deceased in the pool of his blood. At that time, they could barely do nothing.
“It was at that time that they placed a call across the owner of the warehouse who came with some police officers to evacuate the deceased. People nearly lynched Nuhu,if not that some people suggested that it could lead to civil unrest in the city.
