Abia-born University undergraduate, one Wiseman Uzogo Uzogo is said to have resorted to selling his own blood to prospective buyers in order to raise money to fund his education.

Uzogo, an indigene of Epomiri Ovom community in Obingwa LGA, is currently a student of Federal College of Agriculture, Ebonyi State.

A facebook user, Ubani Dannie who made this revelation in a post on his facebook handle wrote “This is perhaps, the most pathetic post I have ever made in my whole life.

“This post is an indictment on me, on the Ngwa political and economic elite especially, those from Obingwa.

“The young man in this post, Okeoma Uzogo is one of us. A proud son of Ngwa Nation of Obingwa extraction. Specifically, he hails from Epomiri in Ovom, and he is presently a student of Federal College of Agriculture, Ebony state.

“With nobody to care for him, and out of the iron determination to better his lot through the instrumentality of education he resorted to selling his own blood to pay his school fees.

“Yes. One of us is selling his own blood, in other words his life, to pay his own school fees.

“Yet, we are ferrying our herds of girlfriends from abroad to Aba, buying off all choice properties in town, building palatial mansions, buying properties for our concubines and drinking 26 years Glenfiddich of 250k a bottle – all these at the collective expense of the poor who reposed so much confidence in us.

“Hearty congratulations to us. We have done so well.

“At the end, it is the testimonies of “nobodies” like Okeoma Uzogo that will buttress if really we have given a good account of what is entrusted to us.

“Our shame de shame me. Shame!!!”

However, in a followup post, Dannie who disclosed that a foundation has decided to wade into the plight of the student, where the said foundation has promised to take up full funding of Uzogo’s studies including payment of accommodation and textbooks.

Dannie wrote “You remember the young man, Wiseman Uzoma Uzogo who had to sell his blood to pay his school fees?

“Help has come his way. God answers prayers using human agents.

“Three nights ago, Abraham Adims alerted me about the pitiable plight of boy who sells his blood to pay his school fees.

“Till now, I haven’t met this young man but I was worried. I reached out to few contacts of mine, and equally posted about him and his pitiable condition.

Help started trickling. First was Tochi Nwogwugwu who had to call from America and paid in 30,000 into the boy’s account. You needed to see how elated this boy sounded when he called to inform me about the “windfall”.

“The boy in question has brightened my day with the information that Nwafor Enyinnaya called him last night informing him that his foundation, Each One Aid One Foundation, has offered him 100% scholarship that covers tuition, accommodation and books.

“In addition to this, the foundation will also open a small scale business for him that would enable him to take care of other sundry personal needs.”

Thank you, Adims.

Thank you, Nwogwugwu Tochi.

Thank you, Nana.
