The senator representing Abia North Senatorial District; Senate Chief Whip has announced the collaboration of his foundation (Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation) in Collaboration with Venezuelan Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria to train 50 medical students in the field of medicine in Venezuela.
The training of the medical doctors is said to be a 2021 Schoolarship program of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation for undergraduates who have passion and ability to study medicine and surgery.
A Press Release by Rev (Mrs) Jemima Ola Kalu; Executive Secretary, Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation on Wednesday disclosed that the foundation would be providing full finanacial support for the beneficiaries among other things to incldue tuition fee, accommodation, feeding and monthly stipends for selected students within the six years of their study.
According to the release, the beneficiaries must be a Nigerian, have good grades in WAEC or NECO including ‘A’ in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, must be between 18 to 23 years, medically fit and must be single.

The Foundation has strictly chosen the top ranking and prestigious university in Venezuela called Latinoamerican Medicine School – Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (ELAM) for the selected students. The length of study is six years

The Foundation will provide full financial support which includes tuition, accommodation, feeding and monthly stipends for the selected students
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicant :
●Should be a citizen of Nigeria
●Should have good grades in West African Examination Council (WAEC) or National Examinations Council (NECO). ‘A’ grades in Biology, physics and Chemistry is added advantage
●Should be aged between 18 and 23 years old
●Should have single status .
●Should be medically fit.
