Abia Assembly Commends EEDC on Installation of Free Prepaid Metres in Umuahia

Happy that its recent meeting with the officials of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) on the need to commence distribution and installation of free prepaid metres to residents of Umuahia, the Abia State capital, the leadership of the State Assembly has commended the electricity distribution company for their prompt intervention.

The commendation of the Abia State House of Assembly is coming through the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu who is also the State Assembly House Committee Chairman on Information & Communication.

Rt. Hon. Uchendu said that the House under the Leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, would continue to carry out her legislative duties including oversight fucntions for the betterment of Abians and other residents of the state.

The Deputy Speaker however cautioned politicians in the state who enjoys discrediting the State Assembly for their own selfish interests to desist from such practices, but to concentrate on better ways of serving those who elected them into power.

Rt. Hon. Uchendu assured that the State House of Assembly after her break will still invite the Electricity Company to brief her on the progress made so far in the installation of the free prepaid meters.
