The Danish National Team on Monday night, June 21, 2021 sent warning ahead of their opponents in the last 16 of the Euro 2020 football tournament after they trashed last group’s opponent; Russia with an emphatic 4-1 win.
Denmark shocked critics as they beat Russia with an emphatic 4-0 defeat to reach Euro last 16 game coming up much later this month.
While Russian side played 3-4-2-1 formation, Denmark played 3-4-3 formation.
The game which recorded three yellow cards; Fedor Kudryashov of Russia on the 28 minutes, Thomas Delaney of Denmark on the 57th minute and Igor Diveev of Russia on the 75th minute saw Mkkel Damsgaard of Denmark scoring on the 38th minute and Yussuf Poulsen scoring on the 59th minute of the thrilling football encounter.
While Artem Dzyuba’s for the Russian Team on the 70th minute through a penalty brightened the chance of the Russian team to bounce back, Andreas Christensen’s and Joakim Maehle’s goals on the 79th and 82nd minutes respectively dashed the hope of the Russian opponent of coming back into the game.
The win placed Denmark 2nd in the group B behind the Belgian National team that defeated Finland 2-0 with goals coming from Lukas Hradecky (own goal) and Romelu Lukaku on the 74th and 81st minutes respectively.
With the win, Denmark who many have doubted their chances of emerging out of the group without their captain, Christian Eriksen who had suffered a cardiac arrest in their first game against Finland have now joined Italy, England, Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Wales.
