Reports making rounds have it that Kwara United FC team bus breaks down in Ajasse-Ipo this evening, as the team was returning home from Lafia, Nasarawa state, where they played Nasarawa United FC in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 19 encounter.
According to reports, the team left Lafia early this morning, but couldn’t get home in one piece as the bus breaks down, and the team was conveyed to Ilorin from Ajasse-Ipo with commercial buses.
It would be recalled that the same bus caught fire in Asaba in March, when the team was returning home after playing Rangers in Enugu.
The team, now third on the NPFL table with 36 points, will host Plateau United this weekend, in continuation of the 2020/2021 season.
The players were seen pushing the bus, which, findings revealed, has a mechanical fault, which requires thorough surgical operation.
The commercial buses conveying the team left Ajasse-Ipo by 8.55pm, after been at the spot for almost half an hour.
When contacted on phone, the Chairman of the team, Kumbi Titiloye said that he has made arrangements for the team to be conveyed to Ilorin, adding that efforts are on to acquire a new bus for the team.
