Local Government Champions Emerge as Abia State Sec. School Quiz Competition gathers momentum

Michael Okpara Demonstration School Ikwuano, Mayfair Academy Umuahia North, Parousia int’l School Umuneochi and St. Peters Anglican Secondary School Umuahia South have emerged Champions from the Umuahia zone of the ongoing Abia State Secondary School quiz competition organized by Ray Nkemdirim Foundation in collaboration with Abia State ministry of Education and other partners.

25 secondary schools from the Four Local Government Areas participated in the Preliminary series to qualify for the Zonal elimination which held at SEMB hall, Umuahia, on Tuesday.

From Collins Memorial College Ohafia, Venue for the Ohafia Educational zone, Holy Brilliant College Bende; Peniel Intellectual Academy, Ohafia; Ututu Secondary School, Arochukwu and Isiukwato high school were winners for the Ohafia Educational zone.

A total of 19 Secondary Schools from the three Local Government Areas took part in the qualifiers.

The local government winners will square off at a zonal elimination series before the finals.

The local government series continues on Wednesday at Isialangwa North Local Government Area, Aba and Ukwa for schools in Abia South and part of Abia Central.
