An Inspector of Police attached to the popular Osisioma Mobile Police Force Unit (Mopol 55) identified as Ochofie Ijimbile has reportedly shot himself to death.
Though information about the death of the police inspector was still sketchy, it was gathered that the policeman shot himself in the chest inside their barracks.
He was said to have died at the hospital shortly after he was brought to the hospital by his colleagues.
Unconfirmed report has it that the deceased policeman who was a security man at a hotel decided to take his life with his AK47 rifle after he could not repay a debt that he was owing.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Geoffrey Ogbonna while responding to the text message sent to him by our correspondent confirmed the death of Ijimbile.
Contrary to speculations that Ijimbile committed suicide, the Police Public Relations Officer was servicing his rifle when it triggered and shot at him.
