The Abia State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps- Mr. Vincent Ogu (JP) has assured the good people of Abia State of his Command’s readiness to continue to collaborate with sister security agencies in the State to provide adequate security of lives and properties before, during and after the Easter Celebration.

Spokesman of the command, DSC Ndukwe Agu Egwu in a statement on Friday said that the State Commandant (Ogu) gave the assurance at the Command Headquarters, Umuahia while receiving the first batch of about two thousand (2000) Personnel who returned from Abuja after successfully completing a Training Course on Counter- Terrorism, Strategic Peace Building and Conflict Resolution organized by the Commandant General- Ahmed Abubakar Audi to enhance the capacity of Officers and Men of the Corps in security services delivery.

Ogu in the statement said “the newly trained Personnel have been strategically deployed across the state with special attention to some soft targets like Churches, Schools, Event Centers, Motor Parks and some black spots.

“They will work closely with the Command’s Rapid Response Squad ( RRS) , Counter- Terrorism Unit (CTU) and other Tactical Teams to ensure a hitch- free Easter celebration in the State”.

Commandant Ogu further said ” do not forget to add civility in your dealings with the civil populace even as you remain firm and ensure that tact and professionalism are not in anyway compromised in your line of duty” .

Finally, the Commandant enjoined Christian Faithfuls to see the Easter period as a time of sober reflection and fervent prayers for God’s intervention against the challenges facing our Country Nigeria.
