Lady found dead in uncompleted building in Abia


The body of a yet-to-be identified lady has reportedly been found dead in one of the corners of a building construction site in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

The incident, gathered occurred in the Afaraukwu community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.

Sources within the Afaraukwu community disclosed that the incident has left them in shock as that was the first time such a thing would be happening in their community.

A rope which was suspected to have been used by her assailants to snuff her was reportedly found in the scene.

Information has it that the workers on site had resumed work on the site after resting for some days, only to behold the lifeless body of the lady lying in a corner in the building.

One of the workers was said to have raised the alarm before men of the Abia State Police Command from Ehimiri Police Station, Umuahia arrived at the scene.

A police source who confirmed the incident told our reporter that the corpse has been taken to the morgue as efforts to reach the family members of the victim is ongoing.

The source who stated that investigation was ongoing to determine the remote cause of the lady’s death.
