Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji today commissioned a newly built hotel, Begonia Resort Ltd located at 25/27 Bonny Street – 28/30 Lagos Street, Umuahia.
While commissioning the hotel, the Speaker expressed joy that such an edifice was located in the heart of Umuahia and thanked the proprietor for investing in the State.
The Speaker said the rate at which new investments are coming into Umuahia despite the global health and economic challenges is an indication that Abia is indeed ripe for more investments.
He urged Abians to patronise their own so that these businesses can keep growing and keep providing employment for teeming Abia youths.
“Abia is a hospitable and peaceful State. It is our duty to make it remain like that. It is our collective responsibility to encourage investors to keep coming into Umuahia in particular and Abia in general because the positive multiplier effects on the State and her people cannot be overemphasized.
“I therefore urge us as always to eschew every form of vice and contribute our respective quota to the continued development of the State”, the Speaker said.
Responding, proprietor of the hotel, His Royal Highness, Eze Emmanuel Nwosu, thanked the Speaker for accepting to commission the hotel “despite having not known you in person before today”.
