The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has accused the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus of planning to extend his tenure in office till 2025.
OYC in a release signed by its President and Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Mazi Okwu Nnabuike they described Secondus’ “Grandstanding” on 2023 PDP Presidential Ticket of the party as a ploy to perpetuate himself in office and extend his tenure( till 2025).
An action, the Igbo youth group warned, would cause PDP to lose the Presidential Election to APC in 2019, stating that Secondus action would force the Igbos to join forces with Nigerians to make PDP, a permanent opposition party in the country.
According to OYC, PDP’s game plan of an open presidential contest was cleverly designed and crafted to deceive Igbos, when they (Secondus and co) had already concluded plans to exclusively cede 2023 PDP presidential ticket to the North purportedly, to hoodwink Northern votes, without considering the political consequences of a Northerner succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The OYC feared that such moves by Secondus and co might fuel ethnic revolution and probably end the unity of Nigeria.
“PDP is already Sponsoring and Supporting US President Donald Trump’s Campaign Council through their Allies and Agents in USA, with intentions that if Donald Trump Wins, He will be instrumental to PDP’S Victory at the 2023 Nigeria’s Presidential Election.
“PDP plans to Scuttle Zoning Formula in the Party that favours Igbo Presidency for a deceitful Political mouthwatering offer for the North is purely for elections Winning Strategy not for the development of the North,or end the insurgency.
OYC call on the self styled Igbo Senator representing the Southeast not to allow his 2023 Guber Ambition to make him a Political Saboteur that” sees no evil, hear no evil” when 2023 Igbo Presidency is being Murdered by PDP on the altar of Justice, Equity and Rotational Presidency between the North and South that had existed since 1999.
