Obioguru who was recognized among other members of the church and invitees during the 2020 father’s Day Celebration of the church at its headquarters located at No. 19 Akubuiro Street off Osusu road, Aba LGA, thanked God and the church for finding him worthy for such an award.

This is even as he thanked IGP Adamu and CP Agbede for their support and commitment in ensuring the residents of the state and Nigeria in general enjoy maximum security and also providing the enabling environment for them (rank and files) perform their duties diligently.

Speaking at the church auditorium immediately after receiving the award from the General Overseer of the church; Bishop Jude N. The SARS Commander who stated that the award is a call for greater service and appealed to those that indulge in crime to desist from it, adding that its end leads to destruction.

“I haven’t been to this church before and I don’t know any of you. But I was surprised that I was being recognized. That shows that the Commissioner of Police and the Police in general are really working in Abia State.

“The award means a lot. It means that the job the police is doing are now being recognized by the civil society. It means that the citizens of the state are appreciating the efforts of the police and what other sister agencies are doing to fight crime in the state.

“It is also a wake-up call for us as security agency to do more and to know that whatever that we are doing, the people are watching us and therefore, we must do our job with every level of seriousness and professionalism.

“When we do our job the way that we are supposed to do it, I am sure that other churches will honour us just the same way that we are being honoured today by this Christian body.

“The award is dedicated to the Inspector-General of Police and the Abia State Commissioner of Police and also to the defenseless members of the society. Because without the Inspector-General of Police training us and arming us to defend the defenseless, nobody would have recognized the police the way we are being recognized today by this church.

“To the general public, I am begging them to stay away from crime because crime doesn’t pay.

“I am calling on the young ones, especially the men to know the kind of friends that they associate with. It is not all of them that have their interest to belong to any cult group or criminal gang, but because they associate with the bad boys, they will start behaving like their friends.
