Femi Adesina debunks purported Presidential Nation-Wide Broadcast

The Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina has debunked the news flying around social media that President Muhammadu Buhari would have addressed the nation by 7pm Saturday, April 18, 2020.

A release purportedly signed by Adesina which emerged on the social media read thus “STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

“PRESIDENT BUHARI ADDRESSES THE NATION

“President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 7pm.

“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

But in a tweet on his verified twitter handle; @femAdesina, Femi Adesina wrote “Kindly ignore the fake news that President Muhammadu Buhari is poised to address the nation in a broadcast tonight.”

Adesina in another post disclosed that Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, phoned in to condole with Presidency on passage of Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
