ABN TV boss charges students on enterprenuership as he bags community development award

The Executive Director, ABN TV, Ifeanyi Okali has advised students of higher institution to focus on self employment as a way of securing their future and generate employment for others.

He also said creativity is the key to surviving in the challenging labour environment the country is facing.

The media practitioner made this known on Sunday while receiving the award of community development from National Association of Ohafia Students, NAOS at Ebem in Ohafia local government area of Abia state.

He disclosed that era of white collar job is gradually fizzling away as a result of the saturated labour market across the country.

Okali revealed that though education is critical to self development, it is not enough to assure people of brighter future.

According to him, following area of one’s passion with creativity and commitment will help in building people and not necessarily their academic discipline.

Using Okali as an instance, one of the participants at the event, Okafor Ndukwe advised the students to make use of their youthful age and indulge in gainful adventures and stay away from crime.

The chanting of ‘ABN we know’ rented the air when he mounted the stage to receive his award.

The students expressed happiness with the virility of ABN TV at disseminating information from within Abia and the country at large, maintaining that the platform has been veritable in bringing information to their doorstep.

Okali promised that ABN TV will stream live the subsequent editions of the NAOS award, assuring them that he will do everything possible within his limit to support them.

The highlight of the event was quiz competition about ABN TV.

Winners were rewarded with cash prizes of N5,000 each, ABN TV branded fez caps and t-shirts.
