Anambra State Police Command parades 71 suspects

The ongoing Operation Kpochapu 2 initiative recently launched by Anambra State government has started to yield results as a joint team of security agencies paraded seventy-one suspects today, Saturday, October 26, 2019.

The suspects were paraded at the police divisional Headquarters, Ogidi.

The parade was led by the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Haruna Mohammed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang.

Out of the paraded suspects, five were arrested for alleged kidnapping, military impersonation and fraud, while forty-one are suspected cultists.

Twenty-two others also paraded were said to have been arrested for committing various criminal activities.

Some suspects were also arrested and paraded at the Anti – Cultism Squad of the Nigeria Police, Enugwu-Ukwu, among who were three women for child trafficking. One of the three suspects is said to be pregnant and currently on admission in an undisclosed hospital in the state.

Blessing John, one of the alleged members of the child stealing syndicate who hails from Kano claimed that she brought the two boys, aged two and four years from Bauchi State

She claimed that she made the move because she needs help to train them, while Ngozi Tisiobi from Achina said that she established contact with her for one Ify to purchase one of the children for the sum of 750,000 naira.

Addressing journalists, Mr. Haruna thanked the public for providing useful information to security agencies, saying that the suspects will be profiled, after which they will be charged to court.

While pointing out that the suspects were arrested with exhibits including cannabis, motorcycles, generator, among others, he stressed that Operation Kpochapu 2 is ongoing and in full force across the State, and advised the public to continue to be law-abiding.
