Ikpeazu reinstates commitment to ensure business thrives

The governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has reinstated the commitment of his administration to ensure that business and economic activities thrive in the state.

Ikpeazu stated this while receiving in audience, the management of Golden Guinea Breweries, Umuahia who paid him a visit at the Government House, in Umuahia, the state capital.

Golden, a beverage producing company in the state had gone comatose over a decade ago after an explosion that rocked the company sent them out of the market.

Ikpeazu who congratulated the management of the firm led by its Chairman, Chief Okey Nzenwa, on the feat achieved said that he was happy that the brewing company was set up by late Dr. Michael I. Okpara has become operational after years of being out of circulation.

He described it as a thing of joy that the revitalization of the company is happening in his time, saying that Golden Guinea is synonymous with not just Abians but Ndi Igbo in general.

The Governor who expressed hope that the company would make great impact in the economy of Umuahia as its host locality and Abia State as a whole noted that the value chain of employment to be generated by the return of Golden Guinea would be monumental.

While assuring that Abia State government will continue to support the company to ensure that its return would last, he urged the management not to hesitate to solicit any assistance they may need in ensuring that the feat is sustained.

The governor who described Abia as one of the safest states in the country where people can establish their companies expressed hope that Enyimba Economic City would equally help in creating jobs for Abia youths.

He called on Abians and indeed, Nigerians to ensure that they patronize the brands of the company.

Earlier, the Chairman, Golden Guinea Breweries, Chief Okey Nzenwa, said the team came to present the drinks produced after fifteen years the company stopped production to the Governor in appreciation of his unquantifiable support at ensuring the return of the company.

Nzenwa used the opportunity to commend the Abia government and thanked Abians for the massive support that they have given to the company since its product was re-launched into the market.

He further thanked the Governor for his encouragement to the company and requested him to fix a date for the official launch of the return of Golden Guinea in Umuahia.
