Students of the Department of Political Science, Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri were on Thursday thrown into tears as a student of the department identified as Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu was said to be knocked down by a careless motorist in front of the school gate.
According to a Facebook user, Udechi Francis Jnr who made the post on a popular Facebook platform; Igboist disclosed that the incident happened at the popular IMSU junction.
Francis in the post disclosed that Iwuanyanwu who had dropped out apparently over his inability to meet undisclosed academic demands was among the April, 5 2018 matriculants into the same department of political science.
According to the facebook post, Iwuanyanwu who reportedly died was eagerly studying hard ahead of the institution’s examination that will be coming up in June.
Udechi in the post wrote “Since the beginning of this week, it has been a sad story. I woke up this morning only to hear another sad and ugly news of the death of a friend.
“I cannot believe that the accident that happened at Imsu junction which you were among those involved did not allow you to breathe and live.
“What a world. Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu, with the little I know about him was a very nice and dedicated boy, who tried everything possible to be educated. In 2017, he was among those who wrote jamb and subsequently got admission in Imo State University, Department of Political science.
“As a boy who is willing to meet of with the necessary things needed in the university, he never relent in calling, sending text messages and chatting me in order to be properly guided.
“He joined his course mates to attend lectures and other things. Later, he withdraw from school based on the advice of the Head of Department, with regards to his admission.
“But due to his zeal to attend university, he strived very hard in 2018 and was readmitted in the same Department. He was among the matriculant on April 5, while waiting to start his first semester exams on June 3.
“Chukwuemeka had an accident on May 8, precisely at Imsu junction and was rushed to Federal Medical Center Owerri.
