The 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Dr. Uche Ogah has assured the national leadership of the party of the commitment of the party in the state to deliver President Muhammadu Buhari on February, 16.

Ogah speaking at a function in Isuochi, the hometown of APC House of Representatives candidate for Umunneochi/Isiukwuato federal constituency, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha said that Abia APC would ensure that President Buhari gets over one million votes across the seventeen local governments in the state.

The APC governorship hopeful who is also the President of Masters Energy said that the decision of Abians to give Buhari over N1million votes is because Buhari is the only man that has the integrity of doing what he promised to do, adding that the Igbos have the opportunity of producing the next Nigerian President in 2023 if they elect Buhari in 2019 to complete his second term.

According to Ogah, President Muhammadu has been able to bring change and transformation in all the sectors of the economy within the three and half years that Buhari has been on the saddle of leadership in the country.

The APC governorship candidate who lamented the inability of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led government to bring about meaningful development in the Southeastern part of the country within the sixteen years that they were in power commended Buhari for the attention it has been giving to economic and infrastructural development in the southeast.

“You have all seen that our roads are now motorable since President Buhari. Going to Umuahia from here (Isuochi) is now less than thirty minutes. All the roads that are being done in Aba are executed by the federal government, but the PDP go about telling people that they are the ones doing them.

“That is why we must vote in Buhari to continue with his good works. We will make sure that the entire Abia voted for President Buhari. Because we can only have the opportunity of producing the president of the country in 2023 if we vote for him (BUhari) in 2019.

“Buhari is the only man that has the integrity of doing what he promises. So, it is in our hands (Ndi Igbo) to support President Buhari’s reelection come 2019.

“For sixteen years that we have supported PDP, we couldn’t achieve anything with it. But in three and half years, President Buhari has been able to bring about transformation across the states of the federation.

Ogah who used the opportunity to dispel rumours making rounds that he was sacked by the court, said it was false and described anyone parading himself as the governorship candidate of the party in the state apart from him, as a “thief”. This is even as he maintained that he is the only gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state recognized by the national leadership of the party.

He charged Abians to ensure that they voted into power come 2019, all candidates of the APC vying for various elective positions in the state. This is as he stated that the march towards the recovery from the hands of the PDP which he accused of dragging the state into quagmire and setting Abia State on the path of development is non-negotiable.
