Confession:Why I killed Wind of Glory Pastors, woman leader

The alleged killer of two Umuahia based pastors and a woman leader of a new generation church; Wind of Glory International Church, Ohokobe Ndume identified as Pastor Prosper Akachukwu on Tuesday October 6, made a startling revelation on why he killed his victims and also made away with their possessions.

Akachukwu who was never remorseful of his action while narrating to newsmen how he carried out the gruesome incident said “Iwuanyanwu was my childhood friend and we were also co-pastors. When he was having challenges in growing his church I took him a native doctor in Ondo State to get charms to attract members to his church and also perform miracles for them. I also gave him one hundred thousand naira to support him during the trip.

“We started the process in the year 2013 and we have been going to the shrine to renew the charm every year since that year. But when the charm started working and Iwuanyanwu started making money he forgot me.

“Whenever I call him for financial assistance he would tell not to disturb him, which was why I decided to attack and collect some of his personal belongings.

“I hired three boys from Aba to attack the pastor. We trailed him to his house when he was going home and lay ambushed around his house to waiting to attack him at midnight.

“I was outside when the boys started the operation. They invited me in when they were through with the operation and I entered and found out that they have killed Iwuanyanwu and the two other people in the house.”

He said he killed Iwuanyanwu for allegedly abandoning him after helping him to grow his church through diabolic means.

Abia State Commissioner of Police, Anthony M. Ogbizi speaking on how the suspects were arrested said that they were arrested through the efforts of combined team of Police operatives from the Abia State Police Command and the zone 9 Police headquarters in Umuahia.

Ogbizi revealed that one Sweeney Andrew had reported the sudden disappearance of one of the deceased (Ruth); her mother at the zone 9 headquarters on October 16, 2018 after she had left their apartment with Iwuanyanwu on October 12, with her in his Infinity Sport Utility Vehicles  with registration  number RSH 583 HZ for an unknown place.

According to Ogbizi, “she called her two mobile numbers, but they were unreachable. She added that she was however called and told that her mother (Ruth) was murdered with Iwuanyanwu and his assistant Pastor; hence the Police operatives from the zone commenced investigation into the matter.”

Ogbizi however said the combined team of Police operatives from the zone and state command acting on a tip up traced the late Iwuanyanwu’s car to Ohia mechanic village where the suspect took it to a mechanic for repairs and arrested one Chubuike Peter who was working on the SUV car.

The Police boss added that while Peter was in Police detention at Umuokpara Police Station, Akachukwu traced him to the station to take him on bail to complete the repairs on the stolen car and he was consequently arrested by the police.

The Police commissioner however said the suspects would be charged for murder after the arrest of other suspects involved in crime who are now at large.

Other accomplices to the crime include Ikechukwu Nnadi and Fidelis Akubuokwu was also arrested in connection with the murder case.

Items recovered from the suspects include three gold plated wrist watches, seven ATM cards of different banks, three plasma television sets, shoes and cloth of different kinds.

Recall that Police operatives, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of the state Criminal Investigation Department in the state, Patrick Edung, had on Saturday October 20, 2018 uncovered the decomposing bodies of Iwuanyanwu, his assistance, Pastor Ambassador Ikeagu Kalu, and Pastor Ruth Andrews; the church’s woman leader.
