Junior brother to Abia All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship flag bearer (Dr, Uche Ogah), Amobi Ogah has reportedly jettisoned his ambition to represent the people of Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Representatives in 2019.
While a release by Uche Ogah’s media aide, Great Imo Jonathan claimed that junior Ogah was persuaded by the family members to drop his political ambition, infonet9ja.com however gathered that Amobi Ogah who had initially refused dropping his ambition to go to the House of Representatives conceded to the advice of several political stakeholders in the state who asked him to drop his ambition after his brother emerged the governor to pave way for the return of Hon. Nkiruka Onyejiocha who had been Uche Ogah’s supporter.
According to a source from Umunneochi, there was no better way of paying back Onyejiocha for her support and loyalty to Ogah over the years than allowing her go back to the House of Representatives for the fourth time.
The source who stated that Onyejiocha’s defection to the APC was engineered by Uche Ogah who had reached out to stakeholders in the party over the eventual joining of the party by Onyejiocha and running for the fourth term, attributed the soured the relationship between the Umunneochi/Isiukwuato federal lawmaker, Abia PDP and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to her support for Dr. Uche Ogah, especially, when she was spotted to be among the dignitaries that received Ogah at the airport in Imo State.
This platform gathered that in retaliation, Dr. Ikpeazu allegedly removed from office, then Transitional Committee (TC) Chairman of Umunneochi who was nominated by Onyejiocha.
Sources within Umunneochi however told our medium that plans have been perfected to deny Onyejiocha return ticket for the fourth term, but that was however brokered by Ogah who promised to bring her over to APC.
The sources who would not want their names mentioned in print claimed that though the leadership of APC couldn’t have given the ticket to Onyejiocha on a normal day, had no choice than to yield to the cards on the table played by Ogah.
They said that Onyejiocha for fear of having her seat declared vacant remained silent and waited for the right time to make public her membership for the APC. This is even as they stated that Onyejiocha had donated huge sums of money to APC Abia mega rally held in Umuahia Township stadium even as a PDP lawmaker.
A release by Dr. Uche Ogah’s media aide, Great-Imo Jonathan to announce the withdrawal of junior Ogah from the race to succeed Onyejiocha with the caption, DR UCHECHUKWU SAMPSON OGAH AND THE ENTIRE OGAH FAMILY HAVE ASKED CHIEF AMOBI TO SACRIFICE HIS REP AMBITION read
