Abia former Governor confirms the choice of Azubuike as Ogah’s deputy

The first civilian Governor of Abia State at the return of democracy in 1999, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has confirmed the choice of the first runner-up in the just concluded Abia State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike as running mate to the flag bearer of the party, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah.

Recall that it was earlier reported on this platform that Azubuike was chosen to be Ogah’s deputy Thursday morning at the Camp Neya, Igbere Country home of Kalu in a closed door meeting.

 

Kalu in a tweet on his official handle, Orji Uzor Kalu‏ @OUKtweets, Kalu tweeted

“I am glad to confirm that Hon.Martins Azubuike has been adopted as the Deputy Gov candidate to run alongside Dr. Uche Ogah the Gov flag bearer of our party. I salute the selflessness of all in making this epoch decision in the interest of the good people of Abia State.”

Meanwhile, there are fears in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the emergence of Ogah as the governorship flag bearer of the APC and Martins being the deputy.
