Abia APC leadership recalls suspended members

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State says it has lifted ban it imposed on some members of the party about five months ago.

 

It could be recalled that a chieftain of the party, High Chief Ikechi among others were reportedly suspended by the leadership of the party in his ward and was reportedly affirmed by members of the State Working Committee.

Investigation carried by this medium has it that the Emenike and others were suspended from the party over what was described as “anti-party” activities of the former PDP guber aspirant.

A statement from the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Comrade Benedict Godson had frowned at the “undemocratic activities” of Emenike and cohorts, which it said was to cause crisis in the state chapter of the party, stressing that the decision to suspend the former governorship candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, was a collective one and endorsed by the majority stakeholders of APC in the state.

The lifting of the suspension was announced by the state chairman of the party, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa in a chat with newsmen in the state.

 

According to Nwankpa, the party decided to lift the ban in order to give every member of the party that has interest to contest for any elective position to come and test his or her popularity within members of the party.

The APC state chairman maintained that the party has zero tolerance for actions of any member of the party that would be counterproductive to the progress made by the party in the state so far.

He added that he was confidence that the party would be emerging victorious in the state and would ensure that President Buhari gets 75percent votes from the state come 2019.
