Saraki storms Imo State to woo support of party faithful

As part of his tour to woo the support of southeast delegates to the Presidential Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding later this year, after picking his nomination and expression of interest forms Senate President, Bukola Saraki today, Friday September 7, visited Owerri, Imo State capital.

Infonet9ja.com gathered that before the coming of Saraki to Imo State, he had visited states like Enugu and Ebonyi respectively where he had taken the message of hope he said he was bringing to Nigeria if elected the President of the country to PDP party faithful.

Series of tweets on his official tweeter handle, Saraki said “I am encouraged by the reception from Imo State delegates and party executives to our #GrowNigeria message. It is clear that everyone understands that there is no time to waste. We must pull this country back together and rebuild, block by block, with dedication and commitment.

“Today in Enugu, I spoke to party delegates about how concerned we are with the insecurity and unemployment in the nation — and on the need for all of us to come together to #GrowNigeria by spearheading a new agenda that can transform the lives of Nigerians for the better.

“We just wrapped up a meeting in Ebonyi State with delegates, State Party Executives and other members of the PDP, led by Governor David Umahi. From the energy in the room, I could see that we truly are blessed with people who are determined to #GrowNigeria.”

Sources said that Saraki during the meeting with party faithful in Owerri, Imo State, charged them to ensure that the vote according to their conscience, adding that the betterment of the country and success of the PDP in the 2019 polls would be determined how the citizens of the country want the country to be steered and who is steering it.
