The Inspector General of Nigeria Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris Kpotun has come under attack and heavy criticism among Nigerians over his style of leadership including his perceived disobedience to the directives of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari during the killings in Benue State.
infonet9ja.com wants to place on record that despite the criticisms trailing the administration of the Kpotun led Police force, the shine must not be taken away from the police under the current leadership that they have busted series of high profiled crimes and arrested some syndicates while handful of the hoodlums have been killed in series of fierce gun battles.
This medium can authoritatively report that personnel of the Inspector General Response Team under the leadership of Abba Kyari, now a Deputy Commissioner of Police have been able to use their intelligence knack to track down sophisticated syndicates regardless of their location in the country.
Sources at the NPF told infonet9ja.com that Kyari and his team keep their movement secret and strikes when their “point man” must have done the necessary underground work before the team moves in to strike.
Nigerians would not in a hurry forget the arrest of Chukwudumebi Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans who is standing trial in court over allegation of kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal acts.
According to sources, Kyari has been successful in most of his operations with no or minimal casualty of his men.
The situation wasn’t the same however, last week as four members of the gang were killed during a severe gun duel at Rigasa area of Kaduna State by gunmen that laid ambush on them when they had went for the rescue of kidnapped Sheikh Adam Algarkawy.
The death of the IRT members according to sources in the NPF has thrown the police community into mourning over the loss of the gallant police personnel
Narrating the death of the personnel in a post on his Facebok wall, DCP Kyari said that other members of the hoodlums that they chased into a remote settlement in Rigasa Forest ambushed and killed the IRT members in a gun duel.
He however added that six members of the kidnapping gang also died in the fierce gun battle, stating that a member of the team who was wounded has been treated and discharged in an undisclosed hospital.
