Senator Ben Murray Bruce has described the drama which played out at the National Assembly on Tuesday morning as plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers to impeach the Senate President Bukola Saraki and install Senator Godswill Akpabio as the Senate President.
Bruce representing Bayelsa East made this allegation in an interview on Channels Television Breakfast Programme, Sunrise Daily.
Bruce was quoted to have said that he had already reached out to the US embassy, the British Embassy and will reach out to other European countries to revoke the visas of Senator Godswill Akpabio, his wife and children including other leaders that orchestrated this siege.
“The plan is to allow APC senators entry. Senators who will install Akpabio as the Senate President and impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu,” Murray Bruce said.
He, however, noted that the plot by the APC lawmakers will not stand, noting that the PDP has majority members.
He said the PDP lawmakers would resist any attempt by the APC senators to effect any leadership change in the Senate.
“It can’t stand. They do not have the numbers. I have been in touch with Britain, Canada, and requested from the management that the visa of Akpabio and all the other senators involved in this be revoked.
“So that their request to go to London, Washington, Paris, Berlin will be revoked.”
Ben Bruce on his Twitter handle @benmurraybruce said: “We will forever defend this hard fought democracy. Illegality will never stand! We are now in the complex but are yet to get access to the chambers as staff of the National Assembly in-charge of this have been blocked from entry.

Reacting to sack of Daura, Bruce wrote “The DSS DG was just a fall guy. Those behind this are still at large and they will try again, but I want to assure the next security Chief that attempts this that even if he is not fired, he will be banned for life from getting a US/UK visa.
