The former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has vowed to demobilize his successor and incumbent senator representing the people of Abia Central in the senate, Chief Theodore Ahamefule Orji from being reelected come 2019.
According to Kalu, he has forgiven his successor and incumbent Abia Central District senator, but however stated that will never win election in Abia State again. This is even as he (Kalu) maintained that Orji is a senator by “default”.
Kalu made this vow at a meeting held at his Camp Neya residence in Igbere, Bende local government area of the state during a meeting with executive members of the party at ward, local government and state level respectively on Thursday.
Information gathered by this medium has it that Kalu’s statement could not have been unconnected to the role allegedly played by ex-governor T. A. Orji in 2015 in Kalu’s defeat by the incumbent senator of Abia North, Mao Ohuabunwa.
Sources close to the Kalu popularly known as OUK told infonet9ja.com that Kalu is accusing his successor, Ochendo Global for using the “federal might” (Police and Army) against Kalu who had two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) stationed in from of his house on the day of the election which created tension within the Camp Neya residence of the APC chieftain whom they (PDP) saw as major threat in Abia North.
According to the sources, the situation can be best described as Kalu being under house arrest as the soldiers, though allowed Kalu to come out of his gate, but followed him to the polling center where he casted his vote and led him back to his house where he remained until the election he was a contestant was over, unlike his counterparts of other political parties who were allowed free access and without any APC stationed in front of their residents.
Infonet9ja.com recall that Kalu in an interview said that he has forgiven his successor (Sen. Orji), but from all indication, it seems that Kalu was yet to totally forgive his political godson who did all he could to “liberate himself” and also clip the powers of the Kalu’s Dynasty in the state in the bud.
