A preacher in one of the new generation Pentecostal Churches in Edo State, Evangelist Benjamin Uzoma was on Wednesday arraigned before an Edo Family Court for allegedly having sex with a 10-year old girl.
Benjamin was arraigned before the court on two count charges bothering on indecent assault and having carnal knowledge against the victim’s will.
The Gospel crusader was said to have committed the offence at No. 6 Oviawe Street, Aduwawa Quarters in Ikpoba Okha local government area a day after he had a prayer session with the victim’s family.
It was learnt that the defendant was alleged to have forcefully removed the underwear (pant) of the victim, applied cream to her private part before having carnal knowledge her against her will, an offence said to be punishable under section 222 and 218 of the Criminal Code.
Presiding Magistrate, J.O Ejale adjourned the case to July 18 for further hearing.
