Fayose to give N50, 000 to anyone arrested illegally by Police,DSS

The outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has promised to give the sum of N50, 000 to anyone arrested “illegally” and spent a night in DSS and Police custody allegedly controlled by the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate and former governor of the state, Fayemi Kayode, over Ekiti election matters.

 

Fayose, Monday on his official Twitter Handle @Peter Ayodele Fayose made this pronouncement, though he didn’t state where the money that would be used for the compensation would be coming from his pocket or from the state’s coffers.

Fayose tweeted “Henceforth, anyone that is arrested illegally by Fayemi and his rampaging Policemen and DSS on this election issue will get N50k for each night spent in detention.”

 

Meanwhile, the pronouncement made by the Governor has attracted mixed feelings among his followers who engaged in banters, questioning the rationale behind the pronouncement made by the Governor, as some of them urged the governor to use such money to offset workers’ salary.

Others however, described the pronouncement as a welcome development.
