2019: Otti to formally declare intention to contest Abia Governorship next week

The 2015 Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti will formally declare his intention to contest for the office of the governor of the state in 2019 general election.

Recall that Otti after losing the governorship poll to the incumbent Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in 2015 headed for election tribunal and Appeal Court to challenge the victory of Ikpeazu, citing electoral irregularities but however lost at the Supreme Court which ruled in favour of Ikpeazu.

According to a press releases issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti would be making the declaration on Friday July 20 at Ngwa High School play field, near Osisioma junction, off the commercial heartbeat of Aba.

Ekeoma who said that Abia is facing leadership crisis went further to reinstate that the choice of Otti to seek for the votes of Abia electorate was because of his (Otti’s) selflessness and determination to end the sufferings of the people of the state which had necessitated his decision to quit his position as Diamond Bank’s MD in 2014.

Otti’s aide said that the event is expected to be graced by people from all walks of life.

“Dr. Alex Otti’s audacious decision to once again step out to complete the unfinished Abia political revolution that’s aimed at reclaiming, repositioning and restoring Abia to Abians is predicated on his respect and love for his people and his state which is the driving force behind his selfless quest to positively respond to the clarion call of Ndi Abia whose demand for good governance is echoing louder than ever; Otti cannot afford to chicken out because, the people’s views and demands are both civilized and healthy, especially at this time of leadership troubles, trials and tribulations in Abia state.”
