Sallah Homage: Gov. Otti Preaches Co-habitation Of Muslim, Host Community 

The governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has called on all Abians to be law-abiding, live in peace with their neighbours and ensure they do not engage in any nefarious activities that would put them at loggerheads with security agencies.

The Governor stated this while receiving in audience, a delegation of the Abia State Muslim Council who came to pay him the traditional Sallah homage to mark Eid el Kabir.

He urged Muslims in the State to remain faithful and continue to uphold the leadership of the State in prayers as his administration strives to rebuild Abia State.

He said there was need for prayers to ensure his administration provides conducive environment for the people to live, work and prosper.

Governor Otti, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu said his government is the answer to the many years of supplication to Almighty God by the people of Abia State and their yearnings for a credible leader that would lead them out of bondage and into a glorious era of socio-economic freedom and abundance.

According to the Governor, his administration is already on the march to fulfilling the promises  made to the people of Abia during the campaigns and is committed to doing more.

He said he has declared emergencies in the various sectors of environment, health and education among others.

While felicitating with the Muslims on their Eid el Kabir celebration, Dr. Otti said this year’s Eid el Kabir celebration was remarkable for the State as it is  the first in the life of his administration and  used the opportunity to thank the Muslim community in this State for their immense support that helped to bring about the new government.

The State chief executive informed that his government is working assiduously to rid Abia cities of Aba and Umuahia of mountains of wastes inherited from the previous administration adding that measures have also been put in place to sanitise the motor parks, streets and markets to improve the ease of doing business and subsequently establish a more civil and effective revenue generation system.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation and Chief Iman of Abia State, Aliyu Ukiwo said they came to celebrate with the government on the Eid day of the Muslims as Muslims all over the world are celebrating Eid el Kabir

He said that they were fully involved in the victory of Dr Otti and thanked Allah for answering the prayers of Abia masses.

He requested that they be included in the scheme of things in the new government and urged Abians to rise up and help the new government to succeed  especially in the area of security.

Alhaji Ukiwo promised that Muslims would conform with any measure the government takes to lead the State and assured that they would continue to pray for the Governor to succeed.
