The governorship candidate of the All Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State in 2023, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has assured that Aba would receive special attention under his watch as the governor of the state.
Chief Kalu disclosed this when he met with a cross-section of executive members of APP, Reality Organization, MUK Movement, and his supporters of Aba South L.G.A.
In a town hall meeting, where he reeled out his manifesto for Aba, Chief Kalu who said that was dear to him, said he has formulated “an actionable policy plan” that will transform the infrastructural and commercial fortunes of the city and place it on the 21st-century map.
“Aba will receive special attention from our government. While other governorship candidates see Aba as the problem, I see it as the solution for Abia state.
“Aba alone can generate us the revenue we need to run the state, but before that can happen, the infrastructure must be fixed, and that is our priority.”
Speaking further, the former Abia state Chief of Staff, who is an Aba-born (nwa Aba as he is fondly called), wowed the audience with his grasped understanding of the challenges facing Aba residents and how to proffer solutions to them.
And because of how important the city is to the economy of Abia state, he, therefore, assured them that he would tackle the drainage problems of the city and solve the problem of flooding; stop excessive and multiple taxations; construct at least 20 to 40 kilometers of new roads, and ultimately make the city the investment hub of Africa.
Earlier in the meeting, Hon. Christopher Igboko, APP’s candidate for the Aba North and Aba South Federal House Constituency, extolled Chief Mascot Kalu for his unimaginable vision for Aba and wonderful roadmap to transform the city, stating that he will support his visions for Aba by attracting good federal projects to his constituency if elected into office.
