The Wife of Abia State Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu has handed over keys of a church building and bungalow of three bedroom flats to a homeless blind preacher identified as Pastor Greatness Chibuzor.
Pastor Chibuzor is an indigene of Umungwara community, Nnono Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state where the church and residence were equally situated.
Infonet9ja.com gathered that the church building and three bedroom apartment were handed over to the beneficiary at the weekend by the Abia First Lady who was represented by Mrs. Blessing Ihedigbo.
The project was executed through the pet project of the wife of the Abia State Governor; Vicar hope Foundation.
Mrs. Ihedigbo who handed over the house on behalf of the Abia First lady said that the project was very dear to the heart of the wife of the Governor, considering the plight or handicap of the beneficiary.
The wife of the Abia State Governor’s Representative explained that immediately the wife of the Governor got wind of the blind man’s condition, she ordered the Widows Indigent Shelter Scheme, of the Vicar Hope Foundation to immediately construct a befitting apartment for him.
Mrs. Ihedigbo added that Deaconess Ikpeazu being a lover of God, also instructed that the foundation should also build a church inside his compound to enable him carryout his ministerial activities.
She also thanked the good people of Ikwuano for their their co-operation and support while the project lasted.
Responding, a village head in Umungwara community, Mr. Emmanuel Ifeanyi who could not hide his joy over the benevolence of the Abia First Lady, described the day as the best day of his life.
Mr. Ifeanyi who described the plight of the blind pastor as pathetic, commended the manner with which the wife of the Governor responded to the distress call and prayed God to bless her always.
According to Mr. Ifeanyi, “We have been seeing the dividend of democracy in the our community but this one is very peculiar to us.”
