A twitter user, Oluwa Pelumi has taken to his twitter handle @ZondMan01 to cry out to Nigerians, narrating how Police Officers said to have come from Isiun Police Division under Obafemi Owode (Police Command) in Abeokuta State extorted the sum of N153, 000 from him.
Narrating his ordeal that happened on April 23, Pelumi wrote
“I really need your help, we need to stop this injustice @SavvyRinu, @segalink, @AcpIshaku
“I was traveling to Abeokuta from Ibadan today, but on getting to reach ABEOKUTA along the expressway some police men stop our car and asked me to come down from the car.
“I was told to unlock my phone which I refuse, but due to the refusal by me they brought out a shocker and threatened to kill me if I don’t oblige.
“So I opened my phone due to the threat from them and upon going through it, I was asked to pay the sum of #1,000,000 but I told them I don’t have up to that amount.
“Later on, they asked me to open my bank app which they saw a balance of #288,000 and told me that they will collect #250,000 out of it even without telling me what I did wrong, so I begged them that I needed the money for somethings but they insisted on collecting #150,000.
“Then I was asked to give them my ATM card which I denied I don’t have, so they took me to a paga shop which they have connection with, the paga man collected a fee of #3,000 after negotiating from #5,000.
“On a final note, I did a transfer of #153,000 I was told by people around there that they are from ISIUN division, under OBAFEMI OWODE. I could remember their faces clearly.”
