Church holds one-day free medical outreach

As part of its efforts in meeting the physical and medical well-being of its parishioners, the Women Fellowship of Onitsha Superintendency of Christ Holy Church (CHC) International, aka Nation Builders, has organized one-day free community health service for its members and the general public.

The Seminar tagged “Total Wellness” saw the participants undergo free testing for Malaria, Typhoid fever, Hepatitis B & C, Cholesterol level, B.P, Sugar etc.

Apart from undergoing the tests, the beneficiaries had free counseling and treatment by health practitioners.

Belonwu Ifeoma and Samuel Karimu, Head Media of the church who were part of the over 200 beneficiaries of the health outreach, thanked the organizers for organizing the event, adding that the event has afforded them the opportunity to not only know their health status, but to get treated at no cost.

According to Karimu, “knowing our health status is very important, though many people neglect it and as a result of it, have a lot of (health) casualties.

Dr. Elabuchi Promise, one of the medical doctors noted even as you are going to the church, you should be able to look at yourself. If you see anything that is not going well (in your body) you should be able to report it (to your doctor).

“It is God that made doctors physicians. I know that He is the Almighty physician.”

The General Deaconess and Head Women and Children Department, Mrs. Ngozi Okoh in an interview said that the need for constant health check cannot be over-emphasized.

“COVID-19 is not the only killer disease; there are so many killer diseases. Malaria and typhoid can kill as well.

“They will be having constant headache, they won’t know if they have something serious bothering them inside their body. So, it worried me and I feel so concerned,” said the General Deaconess.

His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Daniel Okoh, the General Superintendent of the church in an interview said “It is has become very important that we call people together to let them know how their body works and how they can actually use even non-medical solutions to solve many medical problems.
