It was indeed a bloody weekend in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State as two cult groups “Aye” and “Aro” reportedly continued in their quest to assert authority on another and to dominate the neighbourhood of the economic town, leaving three persons dead in the process.

Information has it that while two persons were reportedly killed at the Omuma axis of popular Ama-Ogbonna on saturday, another unidentified male victim was said to have been found killed at the Immaculate axis off Aba-Owerri road, Aba on Sunday evening.

Investigation has it that Aye and Aro, the two popular cults in Aba and the state in general have been on reprisal attacks on each other in the past few months.

The source who confirmed the death of the three said that there hasn’t been official report on the killings, but stated that the police and other security agencies have swung into action to ensure that they nipped cultism in the bud.

The source warned parents to be mindful of the friends that their children keep and the items they brought home, added that some items that children come home with could be property of a rival cult member that was killed.

“This is why parents and guardians should ask questions when they see things that they didn’t buy for their children in their hands.
