About five persons have reportedly died in a building collapse incident that occurred in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State.
Information about the incident is still sketchy, it was however gathered that one person who was rescued from the rumble is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Sources told our correspondent that the incident happened early hours of today (Wednesday) after a Tuesday torrential rain.
It was gathered that the deceased persons and the survivor were homeless residents in the city that usually take refuge in the building that is still undergoing construction at night.
The cause of the collapse has been attributed to the use of substandard materials by the contractor.
