The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Chief Jude Ndukwe KSJI, earlier today distributed Palliatives to women of Ohobo Afaraukwu community in Umuahia North LGA.
Ndukwe who hails from the community said he embarked on the gesture to help cushion the effects of restrictions imposed by the authorities as a way of combating the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
“In the spirit of ‘onye aghala nwanne ya’, I had to distribute the palliatives to women of my community at Ohobo Afaraukwu in Umuahia North LGA to ameliorate the effects of COVID-19 restrictions on our people”, he said in a terse statement released after the distribution.
He called on other public spirited individuals and corporate entities to rally round those mostly affected by the effects of COVID-19 restrictions urging all to “be our brother’s keeper”.
The women who were visibly elated by the gesture expressed profound gratitude to Chief Ndukwe and prayed God to bless him more abundantly.
