Coronavirus: Avoid going to China at the moment, House of Rep Member tells constituents

The lawmaker representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ossy Prestige has urged his constituents, especially the business class amongst them to suspend their intention to travel to the Republic of China as there was yet to find the solution to the cure of coronavirus.

The Nation investigation gathered that apart from traders in Onitsha, Anambra State, traders from Aba were popular among Nigerians that travel to China for one business or the other almost on a weekly basis.

Prestige in the release stated that it was important for those from the Aba business community who wish to travel to China for business or leisure to suspend their visit because of the dangers associated with such visit, especially at a time when there is no immediate medical cure to coronavirus.

In a Press Release that he personally signed, Prestige said “As reports of the fast-spreading coronavirus become almost pandemic across the world, I, Hon. Prestige Ossy, wish to advise Abia residents who have plans to travel to China for business, visit, or any meaningful reason, to hold on until the rage associated with the disease is finally put under control.

“It is on record that almost 20,000 cases of the virus have been reported while about 400 lives have been lost as a result of the disease.

“It is also important to inform you that the disease is transmitted mainly via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, similar to how influenza and other respiratory pathogens spread.

“China is not a good destination now, even as those who traveled are being taken straight from the port of entry to the Hospital and quarantined at their own expense.
