Abia; a far cry in human and physical development

The lawmaker representing Aba North and South Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ossy Prestige has berated the backwardness Abia State has suffered in last twenty years.

Prestige in his new year’s message which he sent to his constituents said Abia needs conscientious and envious leaders that genuinely think about the progress and well-being of Abians.

The Aba North and South Federal constituency lawmaker who urged Nigerians and Abians to imbibe the wordings of the National Anthem and National pledge, assured of his determination to ensure that his constituents enjoy dividends of democracy and quality representation in the years ahead.

“I want seize this opportunity to urge Abians to pray for God to raise conscientious leaders for the state who could be celebrated by other leaders in other states of the country.

“Until the state begins to produce leaders who would be envy of other leaders, Abia will not move as fast as expected in terms of development and growth.

“I want to also advise Nigerian leaders and the led to be committed to the wordings of the National Anthem and the National Pledge, because living up to the letters of both the National anthem and National Pledge will arouse national consciousness in every patriotic Nigerian.

“It is a thing of regret that twenty years after the end of military interregnum in politics, Abia is still a far cry in human and physical development.

“Nevertheless, I want to assure the good people of Aba North and South Federal Constituency of the commitment of my representation to ensure transformation and development. I am determined to do my best to attract necessary projects that will improve the welfare of Aba people.

“I am also calling on all Abians both at home and in the Diaspora to assist in the building of the state, as Government cannot do it alone.
