IPAC congratulates Ikpeazu’s polls victory

…Pledges to support his government

The Abia state chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council,(IPAC) the apex coordinating body of all political parties in Abia State has congratulated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on his well deserved victory in the recently concluded gubernatorial poll in the state.

Speaking during a congratulatory visit to the Governor at the Government House, Umuahia the state chairman of IPAC, Rev Augustine Ehiemere said that the body is willing to partner with his government to advance the fortunes of the state and deliver on the yearnings of the people

Ehiemere who came in the company of other IPAC members said that the body is not an opposition party, but one that is committed to advising and collaborating with the government of the day to deliver responsive governance and called on all political parties in the state to join hands with the Governor to move Abia forward in the next four years.

According to him, Dr Ikpeazu’s election is a call to rise up above his party to reach out to other political divides and called on him to run an open and inclusive government.

‘’By this election the Abia masses have confirmed their love and support for you and your administration and now expect greater and more appreciable developmental footprints in the next four years of your reign.”

‘’We are not unmindful of the enormity of the task before you. But we are encouraged by your known zeal to change the developmental narrative of Abia state for the better”.

According to him, “we are aware that the elections are over and the business of governance now confronts you. It is in this regard that we are here to assure you that IPAC Abia state chapter is willing and ready to partner with your administration in this unbiased capacity to assist you in any way we can on delivering on the yearnings of our people.”, he said.

Receiving the group, the Governor described the visit as very symbolic.

He said his focus is to present a platform for every Abia citizen to contribute to the development of the state irrespective of their political leanings.

Dr. Ikpeazu stated that the next four years of his government would concentrate on job creation, assuring that the Enyimba economic city project which will provide over 700,000 job opportunities will be realized.

The Governor maintained that Abia State is endowed with human and natural resources, pointing out that the best he can do is to galvanize the human capital in order to move Abia forward.

He pledged to run an inclusive government and invited all political parties and all people of goodwill to join hands with his administration to develop.

He also invited the leadership of IPAC in the state to inform his government of any issue that requires his attention, assuring them of his continuous support.
