Even Men of God Could Not Save Ikpeazu at a Crusade Ground.

By. Ferdinand Ekeoma

“Say “no” to corruption; it does not fit you! Say “no” to bad leadership; you don’t fit there. Say “no” to immorality; it will only fake you! Be bold to say “no” if that is what will take your breakfast away; you will get a sweeter lunch pack for compensation sooner.

The above quote by a popular blogger and author, Israelmore Ayivor, seemed to have served as an inspiration to worshipers at the just concluded four day Crusade at the premises of Abia State Polytechnic Aba, as they unanimously said “no” to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and served him a deserving red card through repeated boos and songs of rejection.

Ordinarily, religious ground should not be the right place to disagree with a leader, especially someone in the rank of a sitting governor, but like Fidel Castro once said that “It’s unlawful to be law abiding in a state where anarchy exists”. Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s friend and supporter Bishop Goddy Okafor who happens to be former Abia State CAN chairman wanted to create performance and excellence where none exists; so he was being a religious anarchist, and the people who were filled with anointing of truth and bravery swiftly repelled the anarchy he propelled.

Bishop Okafor wanted to use the very massive religious program captioned ” Wonder In the City” to foist Dr. Ikpeazu on a group of angry but discerning worshipers, who possibly came to pray to God to fast forward Ikpeazu’s exit date.

He wanted to sweetly and religiously talk the people into accepting the consolidation of the Ikpeazu leadership tragedy come 2019 by talking about the non existing transformation of Abia state by Dr. Ikpeazu.

Bishop Okafor elected to join the league of Ikpeazu’s propagandists by throwing up the rhetoric of made in Aba goods, but the people’s response was empathic and unanimous with the shout of “Anyi Achoghi ya” “Anyi Achoghi ya” ( We don’t want him, we don’t want him)

Attempt by the bishop to increase his voice and have his way angered the worshipers who started throwing sachet water, backed with the remix of the Ghanaian VIP song; this time around the lyric was”Your Governor No Dey Do You Well……Throw Him Away! Your Governor no dey do you well…..Throw Him Away!!

I’m sure that Bishop Okafor, Dr. Ikpeazu and all those who took part in staging that failed publicity stunt must have by now realized that Abians, having been repeatedly denied breakfast, have accepted their fate with equanimity, and have decided to prepare for a sweeter lunch.

Even the Jewish Preacher and guest speaker, Rabbi Schneider from Israel must have been stunned by the audacity of resistance and rejection put up by the worshipers who refused falsehood being forced down their throats. The Rabbi must be proud of Ndi Abia, because a Jew doesn’t dignify nonsense.

We have always advised Dr. Ikpeazu that it’s much easier to Use Chika Okpala (Zebrudaya) and Pete Edochie (Okonkwo) to deceive non Abia residents by showing fake pictures of his achievements on AIT and other television stations as he has been doing for months at our expense, but that it’s impossible to hoodwink Abians who are victims of his clueless leadership at home.

A few months ago, I was in one of the Orthodox churches when our visiting Bishop from Enugu attempted to praise governor Okezie Ikpeazu through some words of prophecy, but when our Bishop who obviously didn’t know about the governor’s calamitous outing in Abia asked the congregation to say amen to his declarations, he met a graveyard silence, followed with demeaning murmuring.

Just a few weeks ago, Dr. Alex Otti and some leaders and aspirants under the platform of APGA visited a particular Catholic church in APGA. Accessing this particular church was hellish because the road leading to it is in a state of dilapidation. Just a week after Otti’s visit, Ikpeazu and his men stormed the same church and made all kinds of promises in a bid to neutralize the impacts of Otti’s visit. The governor has gone ahead to donate a bus to the church. For him, it’s all about contest with Otti.

Yes, donation of a bus is good, competition is also good, but when one is acting in panic and for individual selfish reasons, the essence of governance is defeated.

While it’s in order for leaders to seek the face of God privately and publicly, especially when seeking political power, it’s however disgusting for such leaders to think that hiring of a clergy friend or making donations can influence the masses unduly, especially when such a leader has not convinced the people through his actions that he is worthy of being trusted and supported.

Now that a man of God, the CAN chairman for that matter has failed to rescue Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, I’m sure he must have realized that indeed, power belongs to the people and not the Blood Tonic cabal members who may have been sipping their champagnes while he was being deservedly “baptized” with boos and jeers by victims of his misgovernance.

We are happy that Abians had a great opportunity to speak to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in unison, but we are happier that Dr. Alex Otti was nowhere near the venue, else he would have been accused of hiring the people who booed the governor from Afghanistan.

Good morning this night Your Excellency sir, amam LA idi kota sign?
