Contrary to media reports that the federal government shortlisted the name of former Governor of Abia State and a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu to be among those on the travel ban list of President Muhammadu Buhari, Kalu on Tuesday jetted out to Germany.
Associates of Kalu disclosed that the Igbere-born politician boarded a fight through Abuja Airport to Wisebaden, Germany where he is currently on a business trip.
Recall that recently, Kalu’s name was reported to have appeared on Buhari’s travel ban list, a report the Presidency has denied
The Presidency denied the report which circulated on many online platforms through Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
“I want to confirm to you that we have not issued any list and we are not doing so”, the presidential aide told our correspondent on phone.
It was gathered that Kalu has been travelling to different parts of the country, campaigning for President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of 2019 General Election.

Some of Kalu’s associates who pleaded not to be mentioned disclosed that Kalu is equally working assiduously to ensure that not only did he (Kalu) wins the Abia North Senatorial seat in 2019, but for APC to produce the next Governor of the state.
