Immediate past governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Chief Theodore Orji has reportedly lost his senior brother.
While information of the death was still sketchy, sources close to the former governor’s family gave the name of Orji’s late brother as Anthony Chukwuemeka Orji; Bishop-Elect of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.
According to sources, the country home of the Abia Central Senator, Amaokwe Ugba Autonomous Community in Umuahia North Local Government Area has become a Mecca of sorts as it has been playing hosts to several politicians in and outside the state that have been coming to pay the Orji’s condolence over the death of their son.
Abia State deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu was among the top government functionaries in the state that paid the bereaved family condolence.
Oko Chukwu while describing the demise of the Bishop-Elect as a blow to the family and the state and state that life and death remains a mystery that can only be controlled by God who decides the fate of all mortals hence they should take the demise of their beloved father and brother as the will of God.
He described late Orji as a man who lived a wonderful life and contributed so much to the development of his community, church and humanity at large, adding that testimonies about the deceased was a consolation that he is resting peaceful with God.
He urged the bereaved family especially Sen. Orji to take heart and accept the realities of the demise of his brother by upholding his sterling qualities and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding on behalf of the family, the Chief Mourner, Chief Orji stated that death he acknowledged the fact that death is inevitable, described his late brother as a man with peaceful disposition and fear of God which saw him rising to become a Bishop Elect in the Brotherhood of the Cross and star.
Sen. Orji appreciated the deputy governor and everyone that have sympathized with him on the death of his brother and prayed God to bless them.
