An Enugu State Assembly Aspirant, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bartholomew Nwankwo, has unveiled a strategic plan aimed at giving Uzo Uwani LGA a new face in the state Assembly, if elected during the Party’s primary election coming up in less than a month from now.
Dr. Nwankwo who said if elected, will focus on a three parliamentary goals of ensuring “Security of lives and property of his constituents through parliamentary laws, skill acquisition/ empowerment and Projects execution” maintained that security is key in productivity, peace and harmonious coexistence of any society.
In a statement signed by his media team, Dr. Nwankwo explained that the rich agricultural field of Uzo-Uwani if properly explored will yield more income and provide job opportunities to the unemployed Uzo-Uwani populace.
This is even as he feared that it will amount to vanity if there is no security to protect both the farmers and their farms in the Local council.
The statement which also quoted the versatile grassroots leader as insisting that “idleness is the Devil’s workshop” revealed his plans to partner with World bank, Enugu State SME centre, bank of industry, Agric bank and so many other agencies capable of alleviating the plight of the LGA’s unemployed populace for an effective and peaceful society.
“The Opanda Cassava strength cannot take its proper place in the country’s food index without security; the Adani rice farm will remain an elephantine project without security; just as other parts of the Local area with fertile lands;” Dr. Nwankwo said.
“On the other hand, ‘idleness is the Devil’s workshop.’ So I must work in synergy with the World Bank, Enugu state SME centre, Bank of industry, Agric Bank and so on, to ensure that our people benefit more from their various programs;” the statement quoted the Aspirant as saying.
