The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) reportedly met on Wednesday night in Abuja to discuss issues of minimum wage, insecurity and other matters of interests for the development of the country.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is proposing a minimum wage of N65,000 for workers, but the governors are expressing concerns over the implementation of the new NLC proposed wage, if approved.
It was also gathered that the governors discussed the spate of insecurity in the country including the recent killings in Jos.
Sources stated that the governors were equally expected to meet with the Postmaster-General of the Nigerian Postal Service and Attorney-General’s of the 36 States of the federation to discuss the contentious issue of Stamp duty.
Unconfirmed reports have it that part of the agenda was to discuss the face up between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.
