Dr. Nwankwo 2019: Preparation Meets opportunity

0

In the words of William Shakespeare, “some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.”

Just like the biblical David, Dr. Nwankwo’s leadership call came very early in life as back in his higher education days, he emerged former Chairman, Medical Students Association (ESUMA) and member, students Union Government’s Parliament of the same institution.

However, having chaired a retinue of boards and superintended over the affairs of different associations both in  private and public sectors of the society, one can boldly say that Dr. Nwankwo Bartholomew has been adequately prepared for the new challenge he is currently confronted with like the general he is.

Just like a colossus and goal oriented personality he is, Dr. Barth pioneered his activities as a Medical Director, “Save a Life Hospital” and fired up activities as Secretary General, Association of Town Union Presidents’ General, Enugu North Senatorial zone with a tested and proven capacity, like one on a mission.

Destiny is indeed, a bitch. It moves in circles and entrusts its Carriers with daunting and more herculean task on successful completion of its first berth.

In one swoop and at different fora, Dr. Nwankwo has performed as a BOT Secretary, Association of Town Union Presidents’ General, South East; Secretary, Medical Volunteer Services, Enugu; C/O, Government House Medical Centre; and member, peace and security committee of the LGA; following the malaise orchestrated by the insecurity threats bedeviling the LGA as imported by the incursion of herdsmen in the area.

He is currently, President General, Akiyi Umulokpa Town Union and treasurer, Association of Enugu State town Union Presidents’ General.

Indeed, the popular saying “to whom much is given, much more responsibility is expected” is real; as Dr. Nwankwo is presently,  Supervisor for health in the local council Area as he was promptly appointed to lead the light in the health section of the LGA by the new LGA chairman,  Barr. Fidelis Ani.

Indeed, Preparation is the mother of all successes. It conceives and espouses goals; it houses destiny and breeds visions; it incubates and nurtures genuine leadership, until it reaches its Olympian height through a series and coteries of social responsibilities as has been shown above.

In its own version of the historic tale above, the Holy book wrote, “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; “But time and chance happeneth to them all;” Ecclesiastes 9:11.

Let us therefore at this juncture,  rally round our own as time and chance have jointly prepared and capacitated him “to know the way,  go the way and show the way” in his bid to set a new parliamentary order in the State House of Assembly, representing Uzo-Uwani Constituency in 2019, by the special grace of the almighty.

Go, Dr. Barth!  It is in you.
